The bakery (pekara) to know, on Jadranski put behind the main beach promenade: cheap, fresh burek (flaky pastry with meat, cheese or spinach), pizza slices, pastries and coffee. Ideal for a couple-of-euros breakfast or a beach lunch on the move. Small bakeries like this often want cash, so carry a few coins.
A Budva institution: the Niklanović family has served on the seafront promenade for over forty years, with a big terrace right over the water. This is the spot for a proper fish lunch - buzara, seafood platters and whole fish by the kilo. The seafront setting puts it at the pricier end, but the quality and famously cheap house wine (a glass from about €2 when we checked) keep it honest.
A family-run konoba going strong after about two decades, a few streets back from the crowds. It leans grill-and-seafood rather than a pure fish house, which makes it a solid pick for a mixed table - squid for one, a steak off the roštilj for the other. Generous portions, reasonable for Budva, and the friendly family sort of service.
